The sailing was really good from Cassis. First day upwind to Sanary sur Mer in 10-15 knots. Second day downwind to Hyeres in 20-25kn. Sunshine all the time. Phantastic weather. Sanary was nice - not quite as touristique as Cassis but we got to moor next to an Amel 64. Luckily, the wind was blowing us away from it when we moored without the bow thruster …… More practice is needed or at least the people ashore need to listen to what lines we want tied up! Yes, the one to windward please. Nonetheless, thanks to an extremely efficient harbor person in his motor boat pulling and pushing our lost bow, no damage was done to the boat to leeward!
We’re now in Hyeres, Amel’s Mediteranean base. Getting here was fun and being here is noisy. A late season mistral is blowing with gusts to 35 kn this morning. It increased from there. Interestingly, there’s a regatta going on and nobody is talking about not racing. The conditions are spectacular and sail makers (and clients) look happy!
We have a longish list of warranty items to be done but also a list of other improvements, most importantly the second autopilot. The boat will be here for two weeks so that should give Amel and Pochon time to get it all done. Fingers crossed!
I’m cleaning and making headway on the “to do” list. Nothing fancy. So no more blog until the Admiral gets here on June 3. Cheers!
