We arrived here a few days ago and have been a bit lazy, relatively speaking. The plan was to stay only one day, to be used to tour the island by car and that we did. But then we had a strong Northerly yesterday and decided against leaving for Rieke's preferred anchorages. We will try again tomorrow. So the extra day was spent doing boat work - shopping for little bits and pieces (i.e. plastic boxes), cleaning, organizing and generally trying to "hang out", which is next to impossible to do with 3 Esdorns on board.
Our little road trip yesterday took us to the highest point of the island, not very high but a nice lookout nonetheless. From there, we went to Furnells, a large protected bay on the North coast. There, we saw some tourists - about 10 of them. So yes, Minorca is less touristically developed! Many stores seem to be closed, waiting for the onslaught of summer if it comes. The island is very pleasant if less spectacular than Mallorca. The tourist action seems to be happening in various little calas which we expect to explore in the next few days.
The picture below shows the boat in Ciutadella, as seen from our neighbor's drone. One more toy that is hard to resist!
